| Description: | The study provided information on the chlorine reactivity of commercial dyestuffs used at the client's facility. Sixteen dyes were chosen based on their high level of use and treated with various levels of chlorine with various contact times to determine the loss of ADMI color. Five of the sixteen dyes were not treatable for color removal with chlorine at short contact times. These five were treatable at long contact times. This study provided guidance on the possible substitution of dyestuffs to reduce the color level in the wastewater effluent. |
