Description:
|
Due to several bridge failures during the 1970’s, the Federal Government, through the Federal Highway Administration, started requiring periodic inspections of public road bridges. In the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is responsible for all bridge inspections except those within the corporate limits of an independent city, were the City is responsible.
The client had eight bridges listed on the State Bridge Inspection and Appraisal Database. Visual inspection and reports (with photographs to illustrate observations) for all eight bridges were provided. These reports are sent to VDOT where the information was entered into the State Bridge Inspection and Appraisal Database.
