| Description: | Provided assistance with the preparation of a comprehensive TRE plan and implementation schedule to be submitted to the Department of Environmental Quality, Northern Regional Water Office for approval. The TRE Plan and Implementation Schedule was developed in accordance with the EPA document Generalized Methodology for Conducting Industrial Toxicity Reduction Evaluations (TREs), The goals and objectives of the Toxicity Reduction Evaluation were as follows: 1.Evaluate, investigate, and analyze the characteristics and components of the discharge to determine the causes and sources of toxicity; 2.Modify, substitute, treat, or eliminate the causes and/or sources of toxicity; 3.Conduct testing and analyses as required to confirm that the measures taken have been effective and that the effluent is not considered toxic as per the regulations. The following services were provided: •Met with DEQ staff and the client's personnel to clarify the requirements of the TRE; •Visited the site to review the operations, treatment facilities, and review available drawings, data, etc.; •Prepared a "draft" TRE; •Reviewed the "draft" TRE with the client; •Revised the "draft" TRE if necessary, and submitted the final TRE to DEQ on behalf of the client. |
