Description:
|
A phased design was provided for a snack food producer utilizing sequencing batch reactor technology(SBR). The first phase of construction included equalization basins, a dissolved air flotation unit, and a vacuum drum filter for sludge dewatering. Prior to the design of phase 2, extensive treatability studies were performed on representative wastewaters collected from other facilities operated by the company. The results of those studies revealed that a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR)was suitable for the high strength wastewater.
A SBR system was designed that included state of the art monitoring and control systems. Operation support personnel assisted plant operators during the startup period. Operators were instructed on proper operation of a biological treatment process, laboratory testing procedures, operations record keeping, and analysis of data.
